Eastern Yearling Futurity
The Eastern Futurity, one of the oldest Arabian futurities in the country, sponsored by the Pennsylvania Arabian Horse Association and hosted by the Eastern Arabian Horse Show, has been completely "retooled". Beginning with the mare nominations for 2009 foals the Eastern Futurity will become a yearling futurity. With a mare nomination fee of $25.00 due by February 1 of the foaling year and two $50.00 payments, prior to showing, the futurity will be simplified and offspring will show ONLY as yearlings.

Rules/Requirements:
1. The Eastern Futurity will be a YEARLING FUTURITY.
2. The owner of the mare must be a member of an AHA club in the Eastern Time Zone
3. The payment structure be reduced to 3 (three) payments.
4. The fee to nominate the mare is $25.00 due by February the year of foaling.
5. Once the mare is nominated the resulting foal may be "caught up" at a 100% penalty
6. The fees for the resultant offspring are $50.00 due by December 31 of the foaling year and $50.00 by June 1 of the yearling year.
7. There will be two classes each: a filly and a colt/gelding (Purebred and Half-Arabian maintained separately)
8. After expenses, a maximum of 10%, the mare nomination fee will be divided equally between the two classes.
9. The payout shall be to six places 40%, 25%, 15%, 10%, 5% & 5%
10. Failing to have adequate numbers to pay the entire pot the balance will be distributed with the same payout structure; all fee income will be paid out, no carry over.
11. Any additional income from sponsorship or activities will be divided equally UNLESS donation is dedicated by donor.
12. Yearlings MUST BE REGISTERED and papers provided at time of entry.

EASTERN FUTURITY
With the start of the “short attention span” Futurities and the phasing out of the Futurities/Maturities program we have run our last year of yearlings. 2010 will see the final showing of the 2yr. olds with 7 horses showing in 8 classes. There are currently 2 horses re-nominated for the 2010 program from the forms sent with the awards checks. Since there has been the tradition of backing in horses, it will continue for the remainder of this program. For those wishing to nominate a mare for the 2011 Eastern Futurity the DEADLINE is January 31, 2010.
As previously constituted, the current Eastern Futurity will continue for those currently enrolled.
