All PAHA awards are distributed at the Annual Awards Banquet held on the first Sunday in December.
General High Point Rules
To be eligible, a horse must be owned by a member or member in good standing of the Pennsylvania Arabian Horse Association. Become a member! The horse must be registered with the Arabian Horse Association (or a precursor) or the Canadian Arabian Horse Registry.
Nominations must be made by mail: no telephone nominations will be accepted. Nominations must be postmarked on or before May 1st. Additional nominations witll be accepted after May 1st and through July 1st for an additional fee of $10.00.
Substitution of a horse for a horse which has been nominated will be permitted in cases of injury, accident, death, etc. which precent the nominated horse from competing. Under such circumstances, a copy of a veterinary certificate with an explanatory note and a substitution fee of $2.00 shall be accepted up to and including July 1st. There shall be no transfer of points from one horse to another.
Horses nominated for the A rated division ONLY will have their points tabulated from the show results on the AHA website. You will be sent a post card acknowledging the nomination(s). For all other divisions, after receipt of the nomination form and fees, you will be sent point forms and a rule book for the year. Points for each nominated horse must be listed on the proper form for the division and submitted to the correct High Point Division Tabulator no later than November 1st. If post marked after November 1st, sent to the wrong person, or listed on improper forms, points will not be considered.
For your own protection, results may be sent certified mail with the exception of trail results. PLEASE DO NOT SEND TRAIL RESULTS BY CERTIFIED MAIL. Enclosing a self-addressed stamped envelope could assure you that they were recieved.
IT IS IMPORTANT to note that points will not be counted for events participated in BEFORE the nomination postmark. Therefore, if a horse participates in an event held in April, the nomination must be postmarked before the date of that event.
In the event of a tie, award will be made to the horse which has shown in the class or event with the most entries.
HIGH SCORE AWARDS: to the highest pointed horse in each of the nominating divisions.
SPECIAL AWARDS: These awards will be SPONSORED. IF there is no sponsor then the award will not be given.
