PAHA State Board of Directors and General Membership meetings are held on the 1st Sunday in October and December, and a date TBA in March.

All PAHA members and guests are welcome (and encouraged) to attend.

PAHA BYLAWS

BYLAWS AMENDMENTS TO BE VOTED ON AT DECEMBER MEETING

All members are eligible to vote on Bylaws revisions.  Those scheduled are noted below.  Deletions are in parentheses and  italicized and additions are in bold print.

 Article III, Section 1

B. (Ranch or) Family Member

Article III, Section 2

(A.)          Until otherwise provided for . . . dues shall be payable not later than October thirty-first of each year. . . .

B. Any member wishing to be elected as a Director, Director at Large, Alternate Director, or officer of PAHA shall (have dues paid not later than October 31st of each year) be a current member in good standing at the time of election.

E. All PAHA members shall receive the PAHA mailings(, Association Newsletter and the Directory) and publications.

Section 6

B. When a member is reinstated AHA shall be notified and (a printed statement shall be printed in the Association newsletter stating that the person has been restored as a member in good standing) a personal letter sent to the member stating that membership has been restored.

 

Article IV, Meetings

B. Special meetings may be called at the discretion of the President and shall be called at the written  request of any six (6) Directors or fifteen (15) percent of the voting members. Notice to such meetings may be given via mail, e-mail, or phone.

D. Each Family (or Ranch) membership – two (2) votes

 

Article V, Section B

        2. The District Directors shall conduct a minimum of (four (4)) three (3) meetings per year in their District with all members to be notified in writing through the U.S. Postal Service, or via e-mail to those members who prefer it, ten (10) days in advance of such meeting.

         6. The Executive Committee shall have the authority to provide supplemental money in modest amounts to District Directors in case of an emergency. (A budget line item shall be created for that purpose.)

          9. When a District hosts or sponsors a new event (of major consequence) or makes a change in an existing event that could have significant financial consequence to PAHA, the Distrrict shall prepare, in writing, a proposal stating the degree of State liability, accounting procedures to be used, proposed distribution of profits, and any other disclosures that PAHA may require.

         11. If a District becomes inactive, the District Directors shall see that any monies accrued be returned to the PAHA State Treasury.

 

 Article VI

         B. Each District shall cause to be elected before (October 31st) November 30 of each calendar year one (1) District Director to serve a term of two (2) calendar years (taking office at the annual meeting) term to begin with the new calendar year.  (The District Director shall call for nominations by mail. . . . . willingness to serve as Director.)

         C. A District may elect one or more ranked Alternate Directors to serve at a State Board of Directors meeting in the absence of the Regular directors.  The Alternate at the time of election must meet the same qualifications –see E below- as the Director for that District.  Alternate Directors (must) may be named (each year at the annual) at any State meeting, but alternates not previously named may not be seated in the absence of the elected Director.

 

Article VII, Section B

1.     The Officers and Directors elected at the Annual Meeting in the even numbered years shall assume office (immediately) at the close of the Annual Meeting and serve for a term of two (2) years or until their successors have been duly qualified and elected.

2.     District Directors, having been elected according to the specifications of Article VI, shall assume office at the (time) close of the Annual Meeting and shall serve for a term of two (2) years or until their successors have been duly qualified and elected.

Section C.  Each member entitled to vote may cast his vote by mail ballot for one (1) of each officer positions to be elected, and one (1) of each Director-At-Large positions to be elected.  (Each member entitled to vote may also cast his vote for each District Director position to be elected for the District with which the member is associated.)

Article IX, Section 2

(B.) The Auditing Committee shall be elected annually by the Board of Directors at the    first meeting following the Annual Meeting.)

               Section 3

          7. Arabian Goodwill Ambassador Award – To receive written nominations annually stating   reasons for the nominee to receive the award; to be responsible for selecting the award if the committee’s opinion is that one person is deserving of same.   Committee to consist of last three (3) persons to receive this award.  President to fill any vacancy by appointment.

          B.  The President may appoint other special committees as needed and shall require that organizers of all State activities also abide by guidelines outlined in V, B,9.
